RV Travel Preparations:

Once again, we are in the process of packing up and setting off to our next destination.  I’d like to say that we are up and out of a place within 15 or 20 minutes, but that typically isn’t the case.  When it comes to packing up our 26 foot motorhome and leaving,  we have learned that this process can take a couple of hours, minimum.  If we are work camping at a location for a month or more,  we may spread out the tasks over a period of days.

The REAL Truth about Full Time RVing with your Spouse

When my wife and I were first looking into full time RVing, we read lots of books and blogs about the subject. Every book or blog we read had the following one sentence for couples, “Make sure you love your traveling partner!” This was good advice, but it wasn’t specific. It didn’t help me much. […]

Adventures in Upstate New York

My husband Ross and I were eager to begin our RVing adventure with a few days exploring parts of New York we hadn’t seen before. What began as a dreary day turned sunny and warm while we drove. We passed some gorgeous towns in New Hampshire and Vermont, including Woodstock and the Killington area, but […]

Background on City of Rocks State Park

The City of Rocks State Park IS a page right out of history.  This natural wonder was created millions of years ago, a product of a volcanic monstrosity. The searing fragments piled high forming giant masses, a sort of welding process.  Eventual erosion created the pillars and other various rock formations we see today.

There are still signs of early inhabitants throughout the area, most notably grinding tools. Wildlife and vegetation specific to the Southwest bring life and variety to this bedrock. Read more about Background on City of Rocks State Park

Seafood…Sightseeing…and Settling In!

So our summer Workamping adventure begins! We arrived in Eastham, Massachusetts at Atlantic Oaks Campground on Monday, May 8th, and met Katie and Dan, the campground owners! They are a young enthusiastic couple with a seven month old son, Roman. We settled into our site and then took one of their recommendations and drove to […]

3 Things You need to know about Workamping!

#1:  What is Workamping? We trademarked the word “Workamper” back in 1987.  Workamping is accomplished by individuals that travel the country and work. Some people try to limit the definition by saying, “Well, I’m only a Workamper if I’m working in a campground or if I live in an RV.”  That’s not technically the definition.  […]

Young, Fulltime RV Family Working on the Road

Let me start off by introducing myself and my little family of love. There’s me, Jenn, a 33 year old mother of two, singer, artist, graphic designer, and lover of musical theater. Then we have David, my husband, who many say resembles Seth Rogen (I’m not complaining ?) He is 36, a musician to the core with his primary instruments being the bass and guitar. He is a super fun loving easy going guy which helps to balance me out… a more anxious, outgoing, free spirit with a temper and dramatic flare. Camp Hosts at USI RV Park in Wichita, Kansas

Levi about to fill up a 100 lb propane tank at USI RV Park. The front office is in the background. If you look to the right edge of the photo you can glimpse the back end of our rig. We were parked right next to the office; made for a quick commute to work. […]

Making the Most of Midland, TX

We were delighted this January to get a phone call inviting us to spend a week or two at a campground in Midland, TX. We had passed through Midland as we headed to Arizona (staying at a local Walmart) and while it was clear that it’s a large city, it’s in the middle of the oil fields and we weren’t too motivated to explore it as we couldn’t picture ourselves staying for the long-term. That being said, it has plenty to do, and nearby San Angelo is full of super-nice people and a thriving arts scene too. Read more about Making the Most of Midland, TX
